How Should We See Ourselves:
When it comes to how we experience life on this earth a lot of it depends on how we see ourselves.
That being said we need to ask ourselves a few questions to find out if a change is needed or not. Because in order to be successful and have victory in this life we have to see ourselves as God sees us.
How do we see ourselves?
Does it match up with what the word of God says?
Are there areas in our life where we are not as confident as we should be?
Are their areas in our life that we know we need to work and on make a change, but we talk ourselves out of it for various reasons?
Here are some of the things we tell ourselves to talk ourselves out of changing for the better:
“At this point it doest matter.”
“I don’t have the strength or energy to do what it takes for the change to take place.”
“If I begin to move towards making a change within myself, what will they think?”
“If I change I may loose some friends, or family members?”
How Does God See Us?
Genesis 1:26 Then God said, “Let us make man in our image, after our likeness. And let them have dominion over the fish of the sea and over the birds of the heavens and over the livestock and over all the earth and over every creeping thing that creeps on the earth.”
If something, or someone for that matter is dominating over you to the point where you joy, peace and livelihood is being stolen your not dominating the way God designed you to do so.
Psalm 139:16-17 Your eyes saw my substance, being yet unformed. And in Your book they all were written, the days fashioned for me, when as yet there were none of them. How precious also are Your thoughts to me, O God! How great is the sum of them!”
Matthew: 10: 29- 31 Are not two sparrows sold for a copper coin? And not one of them falls to the ground apart from your Father’s will. But the very hairs of your head are all numbered. Do not fear therefore; you are of more value than many sparrows.”
Ephesians 2:10 For we are his workmanship, created in Christ Jesus for good works, which God prepared beforehand, that we should walk in them.
Revelation 4:11 Worthy are you, our Lord and God, to receive glory and honor and power, for you created all things, and by your will they existed and were created.
Do we see ourselves base on our circumstances?
Romans 8:28-29 …and we know that all things work together for good to those who love God, to those who are the called according to His purpose……
Whatever you are going through is only for a season. So walk in that thing with your head up high because you have already won.
Are we glorifying God in the way that we see ourselves? Or is it about us?
1 Corinthians 10 :30 So, whether you eat or drink, or whatever you do, do all to the glory of God.
Do we allow negative thoughts about ourselves to overtake us?
Ephesians 6:12 explains “For our struggle is not against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the authorities, against the powers of this dark world and against the spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly realms.”
Negative feelings about ourselves gives room for the thief to come in.
John 10:10 The thief comes only to steal and kill and destroy. I came that they may have life and have it abundantly.
2 Timothy 1:7 For God gave us a spirit not of fear but of power and love and self-control.
We should press to not receive what is coming at us because its not from God.
Why worry about what people think about your change. Who are you serving?
Colossians 3:23 Whatever you do, work heartily, as for the Lord and not for men
Change for the better is a part of our inheritance.
2 Corinthians 5:17 Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation. The old has passed away; behold, the new has come.
Does the way you see yourself exemplify something new??
