Will This Year Be Filled With New Beginnings For You?

Entering into the beginning of a new year can be exciting for some. It can be a time of reflection, regrouping, reorganizing, setting new goals, hopes, and dreams.  But real change can only take place by way of the actions we choose to take on this new year. Hopes and dreams cannot be filled this year by just a wish and a prayer. It takes acting on a plan this year that is obtainable. It will take making that first step towards our goal, no matter how small or big that step may seem. The fact of the matter is that we will be closer to our dreams and goals than we were yesterday.

Proclaiming what we want with our mouths for the new year as we enter the new year cannot bring about the changes in life that we desire. Oftentimes we convince ourselves that because its a “new year” something magical is going to happen that did not happen last year.  But the new year does not change the fact that God has given us the power with Him to cause change to come into our lives. And that by faith we have to begin to walk out God’s promises for our lives. And if not we will live this life making the same proclamations at the beginning of each new year with nothing changing in our lives.

James 2:26 Says “faith without works is dead”.

If I am saying that I am believing in God for peace but I don’t make any efforts to do some of the things that can bring peace into my life then am I really walking by faith? And how can change take place?

Our determination to act on God’s promises is a display of where we are in our faith and belief in God.  And our lack of taking action could be a sign of our lack of faith, and our allegiance to our fears.

Ephesians 3:20 Now to him who is able to do far more abundantly than all that we ask or think, according to the power at work within us.

It may not be exactly what you expected but it will be better than you expected because it will be God’s perfect will for your life.

Proverbs 13:12 12 Hope deferred maketh the heart sick: but when the desire cometh, it is a tree of life.

Winning is something that we all would love to take part in.  We get ecstatic when our sports team wins a game.  We get excited if we get first place in a contest. We are elated when we reach a goal like finishing a higher level of education. God wants us to have a sense and feeling of winning in life; even if it is a challenge that was very difficult that we had to overcome.

Psalm 37:23 The Lord makes firm the steps of the one who delights in him;  though he may stumble, he will not fall, for the Lord upholds him with his hand.”

God will be with us as we take the steps we need to take by faith this year.  This can look different for all of us which can include a conversation that needs to take place with someone, removing toxic individuals from our lives, setting healthy boundaries, financial decisions, employment decisions, healing of the mind with a new mental outlook, healing from a broken heart, seeking God’s help to get through grief, and more.

God’s intention for our lives was to never be stagnant or stuck.

James 1:23 For if anyone is a hearer of the word and not a doer, he is like a man who looks at his natural face in a mirror; for once he has looked at himself and gone away, he has immediately forgotten what kind of person he was.
