What Power Is Working For You Is Based on What Power Is Working In You
It is great to say with our mouth what God has said and quote various scriptures. But God’s word (the power of God) literally has to be working within us.
What’s in our hearts verses what we say with our mouth, along with how we react to things is key. For example, we can say with our mouth to someone that we like them, but when in fact we don’t. We can do something nice for someone but have the wrong motive in our hearts for doing it. So it is with the word of God we can quote a scritpure with our mouths and not believe what we said.
With regards to reaction, what do we do when someone disagrees with us, or jumps in front of us when we are in line at the store, gives us the incorrect change after we make a purchase, a waitress that brings us the wrong order, or someone that offends us by doing something to hurt us?
Everyone will have a different reaction in various situations but the reaction that we display will be based on the “power” that is working within is. Again, we can quote various scriptures all day but the power of that scripture only works on our behalf when it is rooted and grounded within our hearts.
God has given us access to the word of God so that we can conquer all things that we may face in life, be successful, overcome obstacles, grow from who we used to be, and have a testimony, and glorify God.
Ephesians 3:20-21 Now to him who is able to do immeasurably more than all we ask or imagine, according to his power that is at work within us.
Why is this important and why does it even matter? Because there are only two powers that can be working in us. When we allow Christ to lead us we are operating according to the spirit of life in Christ. When we do not allow Christ to lead us we are operating according to the flesh (our own thoughts, desires, choices) without acknowledging Him. In other words, we are doing things our way.
What changes do we desire in our lives? What are some of the prayers that we have been taking before the Lord? What breakthroughs do we desire to have in our lives? What individuals have we been praying for? The manifestation of what we are believing and praying for is determined by the power that is working in us.
We cannot be on the fence and that power has to be working in us before the attack. Imagine that we realize that in one minute we are going to war but we have no weapon. It’s too late to go to the gun store.
John 10: 10 The thief comes only to steal and kill and destroy; I have come that they may have life, and have it to the full.
Let us spend time in God’s word and His presence so that the word of God and the power of God may be rooted and grounded in our hearts.
