Trust For Our Life
Trust can seem like a foreign word these days because in this life we see the opposite of trust all around us. Sometimes our situation’s or challenges that we face seem bigger than life itself. And trusting in God and not being moved by what we see in the natural can often be a challenge. Whether it pertains to trusting God for our children, family members, loved ones, or our spouse, trusting in God for everyone and everything is something we have to strive for daily.
What does trust look like? What does it look for us to trust God? It means that we cannot be in the drivers seat and that we have to allow God to take over our hearts and minds about the situation or circumstance.
Psalm 13:5 But I have trusted in your steadfast love; my heart shall rejoice in your salvation.
Instead of focusing on the issue we are taking this opportunity to focus on God’s faithfulness, His goodness, and spending time with Him to strengthen our hearts to trust Him more.
Mark 11:24 Therefore I tell you, whatever you ask in prayer, believe that you have received it, and it will be yours.
While trusting God our actions have to demonstrate the same. Example is Abraham and his wife Sarah. The Lord spoke to Abraham on several occasions about blessing him and blessing his seed and that he would have a son. But Sarah got impatient and suggested to Abraham that he sleep with her handmaid so they could have a child. This is like a seragate today. But that one action caused strife within their family.
Psalm 37:5 Commit your way to the Lord; trust in him, and he will act.
Psalm 118:8 It is better to take refuge in the Lord than to trust in man.
It is great to have an inner circle and a confidant, but ultimately trusting in the Lord is what brings about the victories that God wants us to experience in this life.
Psalm 112: 1-8. Praise the Lord!
Blessed are those who fear the Lord, who find great delight in his commands. Their children will be mighty in the land;
the generation of the upright will be blessed. Wealth and riches are in their houses, and their righteousness endures forever. Even in darkness light dawns for the upright, for those who are gracious and compassionate and righteous. Good will come to those who are generous and lend freely, who conduct their affairs with justice. Surely the righteous will never be shaken; they will be remembered forever. They will have no fear of bad news; their hearts are steadfast, trusting in the Lord. Their hearts are secure, they will have no fear; in the end they will look in triumph on their foes.
