Stay Connected To God
Staying connected to God is important and vital to our lives because we need to talk to God, experience Him, wait on him for instructions, and develop an intimate relationship with him.
Talking to God
When we talk to God through prayer, He hears us, and He listens.
Philippians 4: 6-7 Do not be anxious about anything, but in everything, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your request to God.”
We must believe that when we pray to God, He wants to move on our behalf therefore we should not be anxious in our situations. Anxious means to experience worry, uneasiness, or nervousness. This is why He tells us to give thanks in our prayers because He is a God that wants to answer us. It may not always be the answer that we want to hear but that answer will be key our success in life and work for our good in a mighty way.
Experience Him
Experiencing God is important as it elevates us when we need encouragement down the road for any future challenges that we may face.
John 15:5 - I am the vine; you are the branches. If you remain in me and I in you, you will bear much fruit; apart from me, you can do nothing.”
When we keep a close relationship with God we get an opportunity to experience His mercy, grace and His love for us. Many of us can truly say that God has brought us from a mighty long way.
Waiting on Him
Waiting on Him for instructions can be a game changer in life. Sometimes if we are anxious or worried, we will tend to move too quickly in a direction that is not good for us. When we spend time with God, we begin to experience His peace, and the anxiousness and worry begins to disappear because of the power of God that begins to rest on our lives.
Psalm 46:1 God is our refuge and strength, a very present help in trouble.
Waiting on God is something that we all must strive to do. Being centered in His place of refuge and allowing Him to strengthen us keeps us in the safest place that we could ever be.
Isaiah 30:18 Blessed are all those who wait for Him.
Colossians 1:11 God will strengthen you with his own great power so that you will not give up when troubles come, but you will be patient.
Intimate Relationship with God
Having an intimate relationship with God keeps perpetrators out of your life. Building a relationship with God keeps us safe from some of the traps that can get us into trouble in this life. Traps can vary from watching what we say, being mindful of how much thought we will take into what others have to say apposed to what God has to say, staying clear of toxic relationships, and knowing how to set boundaries.
Building a relationship with God helps us to understand His character. David knew Gods character so well that even when David failed in life he knew that if he humbly went to God that God’s grace and mercy would cover him and he would be forgiven.
Jerimiah 29:13 You will seek me and find me when you seek me with all your heart.
Philippians 1:6 Being confident of this, that he who began a good work in you will carry it on to completion until the day of Christ Jesus.
We gain so much confidence in God that we are less likely to stumble during times of trouble.
