Your Morning Is Here: The Benefits of Facing Our Fears Created From Past Failures and Mishaps
Life will come with challenges, setbacks, or mishaps but God is always reminding us that trouble does not always last.
We must learn how to take hold of the strength of God so that our past failures and mishaps don’t cause us to feel like we are frozen in time. Meaning that we can be living and breathing but we are merely existing and not living the life that God has intended for us.
We must give God complete access to our hearts and minds so that He can begin to remove the dead things from of our lives. This is not necessarily in reference to people, it’s more so related to things that are dying or dead on the inside of us.
For some our joy is lost, our peace is gone, our self esteem has dwindled down to practically nothing. We need to begin to take full responsibility for our spiritual, mental, and physical wellbeing. The reason why it is urgent for us to address the things that we shove under the rug each day is that one, those things will not go away and more importantly God will not be able to get the glory out of our lives.
1 Corinthians 6:20 for you were bought with a price. So, glorify God in your body.
This teaching is like Safety Brief: These briefings provide soldiers with information on safety procedures and precautions, especially in combat environments.
We must ask ourselves” outside of just repeating a scripture with my mouth, is God getting the glory in my actions, my thoughts, my mindset, and how I operate with others. Because this is really where everything counts and is the proving ground for our lives.
The disadvantages that come from not facing our fears or in other words “emotional avoidance” is that we cannot grow, we will lack confidence, we will become more and more anxious, we will make poor decisions, we will lack strength to endure, we won’t feel empowered, and our mental health will suffer. Not only that, but we will also then blame those around us for own shortcomings, and project our insecurities on others.
When we are in a place of emotional avoidance it’s the perfect set up for the enemy to have one over us. His work is easy on this level. Not much for the enemy to do because we have given up, we stopped giving God access to get into our business (issues), and that within itself will begin to set us up for failure.
We must stop allowing the enemy within to get the best of us, pull our boot straps up and begin to fight the good fight of faith that God has already fully equipped us for.
We must all ask ourselves this question on our own personal time:
What do I need to do to begin to see personal growth in my life?
Let your roots grow down into him, and let your lives be built on him. Then your faith will grow strong in the truth you were taught, and you will overflow with thankfulness. Colossians 2:7 (NLT)
Be diligent in these matters; give yourself wholly to them, so that everyone may see your progress. 1 Timothy 4:15
People need to see you win. When we win they want to know the Jesus we know. It does not mean that people won’t love you if you choose to live a defeated life. But our job is to glorify God in all that we are and do so that others will want to come to Him and have their lives changed as well.
2. What are your plans to deal with your anxieties?
Being confident of this, that he who began a good work in you will carry it on to completion until the day of Christ Jesus. Philippians 1:6
What work do you believe He is referring to? Why do you believe He cannot complete it?
3. What are you going to do to begin to feel empowered and free?
Have I not commanded you? Be strong and courageous. Do not be afraid; do not be discouraged, for the Lord your God will be with you wherever you go. Joshua 1:9
We have to stop trying to operate in our own strength.
I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me. Philippians 4:13
We have to stop saying “we can’t”.
Now to him who is able to do immeasurably more than all we ask or imagine, according to his power that is at work in us. Ephesians 3:20
We have to stop trying to live and operate off our own thoughts which only takes us to dead ends and causes us to feel powerless, makes us religious, and we have to begin to operate and stand on the word of God.
We have to stop giving up and letting the enemy win, giving in to our fears and anxieties, relinquishing our freedom to the enemy, and giving people that don’t have good intentions for us access to our hearts and our minds.
Psalm 30:5 says weeping may endure for a night, but joy comes in the morning.
